About our organization
Sebha University, founded in 1983, thrives in the southern Libyan city of Sebha. It boasts a robust community with over 25,000 students, 1,300 faculty members, and 3,500 staff members, along with nine research centres throughout the southern region. The university actively hosts diverse events like scientific conferences, sports competitions, exhibitions, seminars, training sessions, and research evaluations in both local and international journals. Furthermore, it actively engages in collaborative activities with other universities within and outside of Libya.
Why we are participating in the project
Sebha University is actively engaged in a migration research project due to its strategic location in a border area with significant illegal immigration from sub-Saharan countries toward Europe. This initiative seeks to enhance our understanding of migration issues. We conduct on-site research to inform practical policies and skill development for our researchers and students. Our participation enriches the project with local migration data and informs curriculum adjustments to address community challenges.
Our role in the project
Sebha University contributes to this project primarily by assisting in collecting and analyzing data at all stages of the project. It will also supervise one of the project’s workshops, in addition to being present in all working committees during the different stages of the project
